Hello!
I wrote a post about how I think liberal arts is important. Truth be told, I could write (and talk) for hours on this subject, but I kept it relatively (mercifully) brief.
Some other stuff:
- The past couple nights I've been reading Bestiary by Donika Kelly before bed. I don't read enough poetry, and this collection has been a good reminder of that.
- The newest version of my first indie app ever is out -- Barback 4. (You should absolutely download it, if you haven't already). In a misguided effort to avoid doing marketing by doing development instead, I've been working on Barback's web site and retrofitted it with some of the fancier front-end technologies of the year: notably Webpack. As much as I've whined and moaned about using Webpack on other codebases, it took installing it on my very own codebase (and marveling at the ease with which I could transpire, uglify, gzip, and compress all of my staticfiles) to understand just how helpful it truly is. (This is, perhaps, a recurring theme of my programming cynicism: I am suspicious of most things until I understand the context with which they are intended.)
- My partner and I watched Moonlight (which was, to say the least, absolutely goddamn stunning and I highly recommend it) and the last few episodes of Sherlock (which was, to say the least, uh, misguided.). I need to watch more movies.
Have a great Sunday. I hope you find a poem you like.
